Here’s a single shot showing the progression with the gouge. Left to right: cut one direction; cut both directions; cleaned out the corners with a #2 (skew) gouge; cut the second time from the left and right; and finally, cleaned out the second time.
After the cleaning, I will take a trimmed chip brush (second picture) and run it down the groove to clean up a little further.
