I saw a pileated woodpecker today! I have hazy memories of seeing them as a kid, but never as an adult and not since I started #birding. It was beautiful! And oddly quiet!
I believe that puts me at 8 of 12 woodpeckers in #Oregon sighted (counting the flicker and the beauteous sapsucker brigade!): how I adore them!
