Twice in the past year, I've gotten a very, very bad cold that ended up with infections. From what I can find, they seem to be caused by HMPV or Human MetaPneumoVirus. This thing is not as bad as Covid, but it is pretty rough. The first time I got it, it was from forgetting to use hand sanitizer after using supermarket keypad at self-checkout. Second time, I didn't wear a mask while in line at a pharmacy. Now I'm paying for that, but when I went to the pharmacy the other day, you can damn well bet I was wearing a mask. I won't do that again. Masks and hand sanitizer really work, it's a bit of an effort but you don't want to get this virus or Covid--I've had both (fully vaxxed, too), no fun at all.
