Yes. I think AI is a perfect tool for control since it can gauge the intent behind any communication, and its the job of the parent to protect and teach. Children should be able to socialize amongst oneanother and social media is the new fundamental means for people to build relationships. For example, kids can be present at school but never know anything about each-other outside of school. Social media is a 'public' way for children to maintain relationships and build their network to enhance in-person relationships. This online behavior has become a standard, but presently it is minimally supervised and only light-touch monitoring is possible by corporations that host their communities (e.g. in video games). To me, this is dangerous and it will only become moreso with time. An AI agent embedded into the app, and the device being locked down and controlled by parents, can work together to protect children not only from simple doxing or blocking inappropriate photos and videos, but can detect intent by people on the other end of a conversation and even potentially measure their age based on their linguistic patterns. This combined with asymmetric cryptography, an app could require a parent to approve "follows" and "DMs" to limit the reach and social circle of their children while online.
