Part of my pragmatism is definitely personal, and applied to life planning. I am disturbed by the ascendancy of global fascism, but my eye (and probably that of most would-be fascists) is behind that, on the instabilities of climate change. I have responsibilities to community, to family, to my best understanding of god and love, and quite specifically, to the children (now teens) who are mine to care for and guide. I want them to have a future, and you bet your ass I'm thinking strategically.
