Oh yeah, and that goes really deep.

I've noticed that a lot of the purveyors of junk science, like the Flat-Earthers, are really obsessing over power and their own feelings of powerlessness.

They characterize "science" as arbitrary claims authorities tell you to believe.That's how they experienced education . For them, truth comes from authority, and by picking their own truth, they are claiming that authority. THEY get to say "Because I said so."
