If Trump wins and none of the dire warnings come true, will Americans think, "Maybe autocrats aren’t so bad"? That would be a disaster, unintentionally normalizing figures like Nazis. I've even seen mainstream content recasting Hitler as "misunderstood." Do we really want a population that's "Hitler-curious"? Americans are already glamorizing figures like Osama bin Laden, Kaczynski, Mao, and Marx. Strange times indeed.
