Depending on you reading of trump I guess. I expect trump's disregard for democracy to starts shine through in his actions pretty fast. Then the need for social media outside of government control will be very clear.
I always hope we never REALLY need any of this freedom tech.
But yeah probably app interoperability will always be the best seller. Unless things go really dark.
