Just got my 1095-A for the year. (This is the form that proves you had health insurance for tax purposes.)
To insure our family cost us — out of pocket — $15,853.08.
That's before we saw a single doctor.
Before we got a single medication.
That's just to have the insurance.
On top of that $16k is co-pays, deductibles, etc.
Admittedly, the American healthcare system is the last of our worries — we're in the midst of a full-on coup thanks to E10n — but I wish this was better.
