The idea of advance reading copies comes already from traditional publishing. They would send copies of a book to two groups. One is booksellers, librarians, and foreign distributors, so they could figure out if they want to stock them / buy the rights. Second group is journalists, reviewers, and other people who could help promote the book when it comes out. If a reviewer has the book before the release date, they can publish their review as the book comes up and increase exposure. 2/n
