To prevent collapse, the United States must look inward and ask: Who are we? Are we a nation built on the backs of immigrants, forged through centuries of conflict to maintain a fragile peace since the Civil War? Or are we an immature empire, blind to history, destined to repeat the mistakes of those who fell before us?
Without the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency, America is nothing more than a debt-driven nation, unable to financially sustain its own government without foreign investment in bonds and the global purchase of our oil. Without the world propping us up, we are in peril.
