Barnacles are crustaceans. crustaceans are more closely related to insects than spiders. Therefore ants are closer cousins to barnacles than they are to spiders!
Let's just hope the ants and barnacles never team up to give us "sea ants" who live in barnacle-made nests... or maybe lets hope that they do team up that sounds cool!
