Seemed crazy that Trump's lawyers argued what they did, but then this popped into my head too, and I'd love to know what makes this different. what's the legal framework that justifies this? am I only protected on US soil? are non citizens not protected from US action anywhere because their governments can't/won't protect them from us? what about our clandestine services knowing they could have blackmail/threats on members of their oversight agencies?
