Below is a clip from CNBC of former Representative Mike Gallagher. The man almost single handedly raised the issue of China as a “peer competitor threat” to mainstream politics. I never agreed with all of his views and tactics, but he had my respect.
Then, he unceremoniously quits congress and does what? He goes for the paycheck and perhaps one of the dirtiest paychecks out there; Palantir.
He's 40 years old and my cynical expectation is that he'll spend a few years at the CIA/defense contractor, build a Rolodex of future campaign contributors and then run for Senate.
This isn't just disgusting, it is also why China remains in pole position in the Great Game 2.0
