No one in Europe is ready to admit this, but here's the truth:
In our heart of hearts, Europeans are terrified of taking responsibility for ourselves again.
While we certainly fantasize about a strong, independent Europe, we prefer the comfort of US hegemony - even when it comes at our own expense.
This way we don't have to deal with anything, and can blame the Americans for everything.
Yet we also all know this can't last forever.
We know this bargain involves losing ground year after year, while the US is becoming an ever less reliable hegemon.
Sooner or later we'll face a big reckoning. We all know it.
But if Kamala wins, things at least stay the same for now. We can postpone dealing with ourselves for another term.
Perhaps.
So yay Kamala, signed 200 million cowards.
