Knowing your ancestry and history gives you pride and purpose. I went my whole life not knowing where I came from.
https://www.familysearch.org/ showed me that I descend from the first pilgrims in the US and further back to Norman/Viking knights. Many great people are in my family line, and I now have more to live up to.
If not for yourself, learn it for your children and teach them.
