Some of this stuff is compelling, and it's a little better written because it does indicate some of his retracted statements and blur them out by default at least. But I don't think we can squarely blame exclusively stallman for this undercurrent, even if he's an enabler. He is one of many. Sure, he's old enough that he's now one of the "pioneers" relatively (which means he definitely can be called complicit) and he's said things that are frankly pretty creepy feeling towards women. but I don't believe he individually is the sole reason or the root of all of this, more a symptom of it.
I don't worship stallman anymore like i did at one point in time, but he feels like a punching bag as much as anything.
I just don't feel comfortable with ganging up on people in general. I think the best thing that can happen is for """problematic""" people to simply become irrelevant rather than publicly whipped/"cancelled." It's less distressing for everyone that way.
