I think the interesting thing going on here is the dichotomy in perspective. To these consultants, they are simply analyzing the market and helping enlighten game studios about how they should write, present, and design their games. Nothing nefarious is going on, they are simply offering genuine, academic advice. However, everyone else sees it completely differently! What's actually happening is these subverters that drank their own Kool-Aid are subtly destroying the very medium itself. They've been convinced the colloquial pre-established "gamers" are the actual problem, and the "modern audience" is the true demographic going forward.
This guy made a huge mistake talking to her, and now he's about to turn on his own side. Like this snippet here. Before there was no problem with something such as their Discord's politics chat, until he got cornered into playing optics. This one is lost, I'm afraid.
