Bitcoin Maximalism is not against innovation or change but aspires innovation to happen following bitcoin's principle of absolute decentralization. Maximalism means guarding or being on the watch for centralization traps:

- Mining equipment produced mainly by one company Bitmain
- Centralization of node operation with Voltgage or Umbrel
- One entity holding too large number of bitcoins like DCG, Teraform Labs or even Microstrategy
- One main manufacturer of hardware wallets like Ledger
- Bitcoin trading happening mostly on Binance or Coinbase
