Okay, this is 100% "shower thoughts" type stuff but...
Seems like journalism has become so precarious now, that journalists feel forced to do one of two things:
A) Keep their necks wound in all the time, never write anything that could be seen as taking a factual stance on a widely-believed lie in case it offends audiences that believe the lie.
OR
B) Go all in on opinions that media owners (i.e. billionaires) throw money at, even if this stance is deeply immoral and/or obviously untrue.
Precarious professions tend to disempower people, and make them feel it would be a *really* bad move to offend any employer in any way.
