On traditional social media I can discover any information and anyone. Centralized information and authentication.

On mastodon I can discover info mostly generated by myself or reactions to it and federated keywords and users. Federated authentication and information.

Not clear to me what the global channel is showing here and how far I can search for. Only what is on relays I follow? Or beyond?
