It feels like men are still pushing women to act according to their own needs. For example, women are expected to fulfill supportive roles, instead of being just as vital of a role in a relationship as a man. I feel that it answers both why men (who were likely only taught to treat women through these standards) struggle to find a partner at all and women (who were oppressed by those standards and just want someone that treats them well) are unhappy with the partners they engage with. It's my opinion, though (I'm queer (specifically an enby), so most western relationships don't really apply to me), so take it how you want.
