Knowing and believing something is happening is no small thing. That was the switch that psychedelics flipped when I was a teenager -- direct contact with something sacred that doesn't fit into words or even my understanding. Even if the experience of the something sacred but indescribable is illusory, a being capable of experiencing that illusion is itself a pointer.
