One thing about Joshua Tree National Park that I find absurd is the lack of water at most of the campgrounds. I appreciate the idea of not wanting to put in the infrastructure, sure, but it just forces people to drive in all their water and then maybe drive 40-60 minutes whenever they run out, often in RVs, which multiplied times a hundred-plus campsites and thousands of campers each year, decade after decade, surely does much more harm.
Either get rid of the campgrounds or put in water.
