having the mindset that "something must be wrong with me" can be a bit toxic.
i know everything about that.
i'm sometimes in a mood where i seek to explain my troubles in terms of some mental diagnosis.
but on other days, i want to hear nothing of it. "stop defining me as a disorder. this is perfectly healthy and normal."
but there's one thing i have learned: the exact reason doesn't matter. if i have a need, the need is real, and if other people can help me with that, they must know how i feel, so i must communicate it clearly.
one way you can do that is to look at what other people need, and try to explain your needs in ways that they can relate to.
