But it's not just white people, my grandma does the same thing too. She thinks there's a proper way to talk become yk we had to talk that way else the white people would call us uncivilized and not give us what we deserve so it's just ingrained in her which I get and ik she just tells us to talk "proper" to protect us but like I'm in douglasville of course I know how to talk white lmao
