A few years ago, I dug into the evidence about how much of an effect professors have on the political views of their students. A number of studies have been done, and the main takeaways are (1) professors themselves have little to no effect, (2) students do change their views while at college, but it's primarily a peer effect of just being around more people your own age but from more liberal demographics, locations, etc., and (3) it mostly goes away when they moved back home.
