Reality is... the office isn't conducive to high functioning producers. With the degradation into RL politics, who in their right mind would take the job? No one of consequence because nothing gets done.
Instead it attracted fence sitters and experts at looking busy while doing nothing. That has given way to the psychopath, the narcissist who seeks power and control. Which in turn has become a haven for sociopathic criminals. It's the white collar mafia using the same M.O. as street gang thugs. Only these criminals have gotten really good at using the same RL politics to distract from their grift. It is a swamp and a Hydra. The people are thrown bones occasionally to placate their frustrations but nothing *really* changes.
Trump is a distruptor and a change agent but even his remarkable first 60 days is just scratching the surface and has avoided the ROOT causes that will continue to be used by those really in control.
