La Leche League pushing the idea of men breastfeeding is not new. In the late 1970s they were selling the idea to progressive parents as a way for fathers to "bond" with their babies. Instead of inducing lactation they were putting breast milk or formula in an I.V. type bag taped up next to the nipple.
