10 minutes in to this video of two artists talking about what it's like trying to actually be an artist professionally now (they say a lot of the things that the recent Vox article did too), but they - so far - have not mentioned Mastodon/Fedi as a place where they post.
This is obv just my personal experience, but I've found since I switched over to Mastodon, that I've gotten *more* shop sales and (recently) some commissions as well....
