For instance, we ask for users to commit a given amount of sats as a reward for fixing a bug or putting a new feature on Amethyst. They can offer anything, even 1 sat.

But if they offer nothing and delete the text that asks them for, I don't even pay attention to the issue.

If they don't care enough to put something up, then I also don't care.
