There was a time where individual computers were expensive, so you would run complex tasks on a powerful remote server. Nowadays I have to run tasks on remote AWS instances which are massively slower than my workstation because the fast ones are so insanely expensive that most cannot rent them. And AWS instances are not even the worse. This is supposed to be progress.
