Small business owners cannot afford to stop using Facebook and are not going to learn linux and self host decentralized socials.
I'm not sure how to get out of this mess but if we want FB out of business we better start normalizing hosting services for friends or even a whole town, just with your spare rigs and CPU time. The hardware is already plentiful, we need a leaner software stack that skips the whole BIOS bullshit because people are not gonna do that. So Yunohost in a VM? Android phones?
