the new Sonic game has been doing incredible critically, and i hope they follow through on what this review says: leave the nostalgia behind. this is the third nostalgia-focused title now, in the current era of gaming Sonic Team has an opportunity to really do something cool and take a solid original direction with this series. it's been amusing that of all the franchises to do it it's Sonic the Hedgehog that has this moment to seize.
