I’ve been running low on resilience and damn if some particular boosting here and on bluesky didn’t (unintentionally) bombard me with triggers.
Mastodon and Ivory, my third-party client, offer quite the collection of wards for protection. (Although recent Meow config changes have broken ivory somewhat.)
Bluesky… is a mess.
It’s not feasible to expect everyone to be considerate of EVERY possible trigger. The early days of Mastodon have shown us the consequences of insisting that.
(Although we should certainly encourage people to be more mindful in GENERAL.)
It’s important that we remember: these sites are tools and our tools should work for us; not vice versa. Probably more so than ever.
Anyhow, I’ve been working on making a sorta browser plugin to augment Bluesky with better content filtering but it’s very slow going.
At least it makes me feel like I’m doing /something/ rather than just quit the sites every couple of weeks when this happens. And the effort is working, I got my first decent night of sleep in over two weeks last night 💕
