Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is layd vp for the iust.

merit can be purchased; passion cannot.
merit alone cannot change the world, not in the macro sense and not even in your personal world.
one needs both.
passion comes from an old Latin word meaning "to suffer," so passion properly understood is that for which sake one is willing to suffer. merit alone for want of a raison d'être will not see it done.

if one would be that good man who leaveth an inheritance to his children's children... well it won't leave itself, how does one accrue it?
whatever must be done requires that passion described above.
