Part of it here seems to be that everyone expects the current government to be incompetent and also pro Israel, whereas the opposition being more left wing people thought would lean the other way - only they misread it very badly and promptly alienated an awful lot of people, which may hurt them badly in the local elections soon.
We are now seeing the government trying to reposition on Israel to take those voters -which probably won't work
