Will Netflix’s Anime Adaptions Be Good Or Gross‽
Okay, so I have (at most) watched some clips of the original animes One Piece & *Avatar: The Last Airbender* but I have yet to watch either in their entirety.
That said, I have my doubts about whether Netflix can actually produce a decent, live action anime as they have a history of 💩 in the 🛏️ which it comes to anime stories.
Let’s take the trailer for One Piece for instance.

After watching the trailer, I can say the story looks interesting at first. But the CGI looks second rate, & some of the jokes seem to fall flat.
Although I have not watched animation series, this live action series comes across as a whimsical adventure fantasy full of self depreciation. I hope I am wrong, but I thing general audiences will be turned off by this live action series, & dismiss the animation altogether based upon their reaction to the live action series.
What About Airbender‽
I am fairly certain Netflix is going to 💩 the 🛏️, the 🚽 & forget to use the toilet paper 🧻 when it comes to *Avatar: The Last Airbender.*
Why‽ Because of this tidbit. You may recall from a few years back that Avatar: The Last Airbender original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko departed the project, raising questions about how faithful the new adaptation will be to the source material. “I realized I couldn’t control the creative direction of the series, but I could control how I responded,” DiMartino said in 2020. “So, I chose to leave the project. It was the hardest professional decision I’ve ever had to make, and certainly not one that I took lightly, but it was necessary for my happiness and creative integrity.” Still, he added at the time that the Netflix adaption “has the potential to be good.” We’ll have to wait until next year to find out. (Engadget)The fact that Netflix has only released a teaser despite having a few years to work on Avatar Airbender series indirectly tells me that there is chaos in paradise, & that Netflix is probably scrambling to meet their 2024 deadline.

Now both of these series could pleasantly surprise me & end up being awesome. But honestly, I am not holding my breath, especially with Netflix’s triple 💩 the 🛏️ with the live action series Cowboy Bebop (see trailer below)—

—& Fullmetal Alchemist (which Netflix really screwed up).

So yeah, I am very skeptical about Netflix with it comes to bringing anime stores to live action, but I do hope that they prove me wrong (some day).
