I’ve seen aspiring designers look up to those personalities as like a pinnacle of success. Look at that successful designer! They know so much!! I understand the confusion.

When you see people like that, and wonder if you should take their advice, try to find anything they’ve actually made. See if you admire them for what they create or only what they say. Do they have a portfolio? Do you even like it? Or do they just project the idea of success to sell it to you?
