For $30m you could easily fork #mastodon (or another of the great projects out there) and fix all the things these people complain about. and everybody would love to have another large and healthy alternative using #ActivityPub as part of the fedi. that's the whole point. I mean we've probably had less than $1m spent on the network so far.
