It’s fun to laugh at the RNC cultists & their ear-bandages, but descriptions of Trump’s injury make it clear we came within a literal inch of being tipped into chaos. When a candidate with an armed & aggressive cult following is killed before an election his fans think he's bound to win, that's a recipe for violence on a rarely-seen scale. Even if it later emerged the sniper was a politically-agnostic publicity-seeker, it wouldn't matter. The fuse would be lit.
We ALL dodged a bullet.
