There are talks in Canada to ditch the F 35 in favor of European planes. Their advantage? They dont come with strings atached and they will be delivered faster than the US planes most probably.
Canadians also know these planes, having studied them.
The European planes are not as advanced as the US planes but they have some strengths and right now security is in high demand.
