I'm looking for community here, especially among writers.
I'm not interested in mountains of hashtags (this is not Instagram). I'm also not interested in accounts that only promote their books or podcasts under writing hashtags.
Mastodon has a lovely mute button.
So if you do nothing but c/p posts from Instagram or promote your book - I'll hit that button and won't see your posts ever again.
Don't do that. Be a person, not a bot.
