President Trump asks:
For all the wasteful spending that DOGE is uncovering, how much money has been kicked back?
Why would the California train project be billions over budget? It's not possible.
Trump wants to rapidly investigate the CA train project
Believe it or not, this train was approved by voters in 2008 and was estimated to cost $33 billion. Instead now, it's more than 90% smaller and is costing $150 Billion more than originally planned. Not only is it way over budget and had the scope reduced, it also is not scheduled to be completed until 2030 - more than a decade over schedule.
President Trump is right - something is not adding up here.
