I recall that around 2009, when I first taught computer science (at Austin Community College, where I had been a student about 15 years earlier), the University of Texas at Austin was imposing wage cuts on its faculty around the same time it raised the annual pay of its head football coach from $2-million to $5-million.
I'm glad I attended a university that prioritizes academics over sports (not #UTAustin ).
There's something very wrong with #EducationInAmerica .
