#proofofinception in Bangkok, mid-2020.
The young Thai king was allegedly holed up in a hotel somewhere in Germany with about 20 prostitutes. (Who knows if it's true, and does it really matter?) The good people of Thailand, and 100s of thousands (maybe millions?) of "stranded" foreigners, we followed the mask rules for 4 months and then --while you guys were all complaining about getting #vaxxed-- we were quietly having the time of our lives, no vaccines necessary. I remember someone cheerily explaining to me, "There's no covid here! Don't worry." when I forgot my mask, en route to the local market.
After those 4 months passed, the government determined that they would extend our visas (eliminating the messiness of border runs) and encourage us to travel domestically --discounts on everything!
