Maybe, but it's annoying to be the only person in the room saying "if this thing is crap let's just fix it?" all the time. Also its less overall work and since I'm fundamentally lazy I prefer the fix-the-problem answer over the add-a-layer answer.

(I don't even care about people's promo. I can document the hell out of either in a way that will legit cover folks perf/promo needs, that's not hard)
