From Friday afternoon at the terminus of our daily walk. A human family was trying to feed the duck family (on the right) but of course the geese swarmed in and about bowled the poor ducklings over. 😠
Did you know that ducklings initially all have female plumage, and some of the first signs to tell the sexes apart are that males start to get yellow beaks and curled up feathers at the tail, whereas female beaks stay orange/black and they have no curling feathers? We can start to spot the yellow beaks coming in around now.
