Why do the media fail us repeatedly as we seek salient information about significant topics discussed in the public square? A huge part of the problem, Parker Molloy reminds us, pointing to the trans discussion, is who the media listen to, let into the conversation, permit to have a voice. Speaking as a trans person, Molloy writes:
"We're everywhere in the coverage, but nowhere in the conversation."
So much easier to talk at and about people.
