Ooc: My buddy who has spent the last two years in the middle of a psychotic break, who I thought might not come back and who might not want to resume old friendships, texted me asking to hang out. He's completed about 90 days of treatment and appears to be better than he's been in many years. I'm optimistic, but cautiously so. We're getting coffee and taking a hike. Hopefully, I get one of my best friends back.

Any input on how to gently navigate rapprochement with a friend who just survived a years-long mental health crisis that shook his confidence in his ability to assess basic material reality will be much appreciated!
